A Five-Factor Explainable Model

Every deal is scored across five independently assessed dimensions, with a penalty adjustment for verification gaps and greenwashing signals. The result is a single, auditable number — not a black box.

Scale
Beneficiary reach and deployment footprint. How many people, ecosystems, or systems does this deal affect, and at what depth of penetration?
Max 20 pts
Depth
Magnitude of change per unit beneficiary. A deal that transforms income, health, or access for a smaller population may outscore one with shallow, broad-brush reach.
Max 30 pts
Additionality
Market gap and counterfactual necessity. The highest-weighted dimension: would this capital have arrived without the impact mandate, or is it filling a genuine gap?
Max 20 pts
Targeting
Concentration on underserved populations — low-income households, frontier geographies, marginalised communities. Generic reach does not score well here.
Max 10 pts
Duration
Durability and long-tail impact. Does the intervention create persistent change — infrastructure, behaviour, or ecosystem — or does impact decay when capital exits?
Deducted
Penalty
Risk-adjusted deduction for greenwashing signals, absent third-party audits, unverified outcome claims, or marketing overstatement. Applied per auditor finding.
