Who Scores the Deals?

The Impact IQ is an independent deal intelligence publication produced by The Impact IQ Team at FA3i (Finance Agentic AI). We take no fees from rated entities. Every score is derived from publicly disclosed information and the FA3i five-factor methodology.

The Impact IQ Team
Research & Methodology
The Impact IQ scoring team applies the five-factor methodology to PE, VC, and development finance deals. Scores are produced through an AI-assisted, human-reviewed workflow — AI generates initial factor scores with justifications; a human reviewer validates, adjusts, and signs off before publication.
1
Deal Ingestion
Deals enter the pipeline via manual curation by the FA3i research team or through community submissions. Each deal is logged with source, date, and disclosed capital amount.
2
Auto-Score
AI scores each factor with a written justification using the Impact IQ methodology prompt. Initial scores are generated for Scale, Depth, Additionality, Targeting, and Duration based on publicly available information.
3
Human Review
A reviewer validates scores factor-by-factor, adjusts if needed, and confirms justifications are grounded in disclosed evidence. No score is published without human sign-off.
4
Penalty Review
Any greenwashing signals, absent audits, or outcome overstatements trigger a deduction. Penalties are documented with a written rationale and applied before the final score is computed.
5
Sign-Off
Reviewer name and date are recorded in the scoring log. The deal record is frozen pending publication. Any subsequent material disclosure triggers a re-review.
6
Publish
The deal becomes visible in the pipeline. A re-review is triggered every 18 months or upon material new disclosure — whichever comes first.
1
FA3i takes no fees, retains no equity stake, and holds no commercial relationship with any rated entity. Impact IQ scores are produced entirely on the basis of publicly disclosed information; rated entities have no right of review or appeal prior to publication.
2
Scoring decisions are made independently of FA3i's advisory or consulting work. Personnel involved in advisory engagements are recused from scoring decisions relating to any client or prospective client.
3
Any potential conflict is disclosed in the deal's score record and the deal is assigned to an independent reviewer. A conflict register is maintained internally and reviewed quarterly by the editorial lead.
Current methodology: FA3i Impact IQ Scoring Model v1.0. Effective from January 2024. Scoring formula: Scale (0–20) + Depth (0–20) + Additionality (0–30) + Targeting (0–20) + Duration (0–10) − Penalty. Factor weights reviewed annually.
